KMJ — A bill that would allow condoms to be distributed in California prisons has advanced in
Sacramento.
The Prisoner Protections for Family and Community Health Act passed the California State Assembly on Thursday.
Despite sexual activity being prohibited in prisons, the bill's supporters say it still occurs, and the risk of contracting a disease is substantially higher.
AB-999 cites results from a pilot program conducted inside Solano State Prison, which showed that when condoms are distributed, they're often used.
According to the California Department of Public Health, the average cost per patient with HIV in the Medi-Cal system is nearly $24,000 dollars a year, while condom distribution costs $1.39 per prisoner to implement.
The bill now heads to the California State Senate for consideration.

so does that mean they have repealed the law that says they cannot have sex in prison? Or are all the distribute the con-doms (no not misspelled) aiding and abetting prison rape?? Think of that your being an accessory to rape while handing them out,,,,that is what the jury will convict you of,,,when the inmate files charges of being raped and you gave his/her rapist a tool of the rape,,,,
We should give them tattoo guns so they can continue to mark themselves with gang and racist tattoos also provide sheaths for their shanks because sticking them up their ass contaminates them when they stick them in their someone's kneck. We should also think about giving them a free room and three squares a day and keep them alive with free medical because letting them stay on the streets would kill them sooner. Oh wait we allready do that. The end is near I can feel it.
We should be giving them clean tattoo needles too?
Why don't we open up tattoo shops in the hobby so they can get tattoos without getting HEP-C. This will be more effective of spreading the disease. They can pay us with Trust withdraw or Green dot.
