CimRiders — Our thoughts and prayers go out to Officer Tom Dennie and his loved ones this morning. Brenda Cash, Warden, CIM, relayed to me that he is in critical condition in a local ICU. Officer Dennie is a 20 year veteran of the department.
Officer Dennie was on his way to work at CIM, First Watch, when he stopped for gasoline at a Shell Gas Station. He was in uniform, and did have his cover shirt on. Two men have been apprehended as shooting suspects. Christopher Marquez, 24, and Anthony Gomez, 31, both of Riverside, were booked into jail on attempted homicide. It was confirmed that one of the suspects paroled from CIM.
I have offered any support and assistance that we can provide to CIM.
Again, I know you will keep Officer Dennie in your thoughts for his recovery as our correctional family mourns this tragic shooting.
