Is this the run up to another joint screw of custody staff by The State of California and CCPOA, seeing how another contract is being agreed upon by the unholy alliance. An alliance that has agreed to the dangerous situations under which California's prison staffs are working with staffing at unsafe levels. Promoting the break down of the safety and security behind the walls, where the public safety of California used to be reasonably secured.
WHAT!!!!!?????
You are crying because they are going to allow us to transfer closer to home? This is why the state and the public hates us! People like you that cry like a PC inmate over EVERYTHING!
This is the 3rd one-for-one exchange in three waves. Supposedly there will be one for every wave. It is a good thing giving an officer the opportunity to transfer closer to home.
The stipulation of 'IF' there is another wanting to exchange/transfer to your institution is controlling, overbearing, personally intrusive, and down-right wrong.
We cannot trust CCPOA and CDCr to do what is right. What we all need to be concerned about is if this unfair practice becomes "standard practice" for transfers past the era of waves.
Laid-off officers are getting their jobs back (those that want to come back). Transfers to the new Stockton facility is happening at the beginning of June. The Academy will begin again soon for new hires. All institutions are STILL short staffed.
If there is enough positions to rehire the laid-off c/o's and start the academy, why not open the transfers? The hiring authority (Warden) has to approve or deny it anyway.
CDCr's feeble ideas haven't worked thus far and CCPOA needs to get a back bone and say enough is enough. We need to go back to the MOU agreement regarding transfers.
CCPOA needs to get off its knees and stand for something.
I'm Just Sayin...
CCPOA will remain on it's knees for a long while still. You'll see I'm right, as soon as you see the new contract.
as has been said before,
mikey+parolee/inmate+state board knowing and not firing mikey=blackmail by state
we are done till the state board of ccpoa is removed or ccpoa disbanded and a new union for us. Go look at SEIU 1000's website and you will see what they are getting and it is not a screwing like us, for sure!
Ladies and Gents, the writing is on the wall. The good old days are gone and the new and improved CDCR is here. Its a matter of time no longer a peace offiicer and becomes a security job.Which means less dollars in our pockets for our family.
when the guns go, is when you know the peace officer status does too.
Don't trust the one for one. You will get to a joint close to home and be laid off for six months and counting.
I could only comprehend a few of your responses. Hopefully none of you are in positions of leadership for one would surely be in trouble. CDCR needs revamping indeed but the one for one swap is a win win situation. I love the hot air filled blowhards who produce a negative spin regardless of the situation. They are soothsayers of doom. Sometimes there is no underlying motive or underhanded schemes. Sometimes we can accept things at face value, work it into something positive and take advantage of it despite the overwhelming negativity this department produces.
