Inmate held in Jamestown dies

Calaveras EnterpriseAn inmate being held at the Sierra Conservation Center, a correctional facility in Jamestown, was found suffering from severe head injuries Wednesday, Dec. 11. He died Thursday night at an area hospital.

Andrew Tisnado, 31, was found in his bed by staffers with the head injuries and he was airlifted to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto where he was put on life support. His injuries resulted in his death a day later, however, and the death is now being investigated as a homicide.

The Hispanic male from Los Angeles first arrived at the correctional facility in January of this year and was serving four years for possession of ammunition by a felon. He was due to be paroled in November 2015.

According to a webpage established to raise donations for the family, Tisnado was the father of two young children and being held in the Fire Camp group at the correctional facility, along with 32 other inmates.

No further updates were available at press time Monday related to the homicide investigation.
